Hands On Training for Scissor Lifts, Aerial Lifts, and Boom Lifts

At Industrial Safety & Rescue, we provide in-depth MEWP Training for teams that operate scissor lifts, aerial lifts, boom lifts, and other types of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms across industrial, construction, and commercial environments. Our instructor-led, hands-on approach ensures operators are not only compliant with OSHA and ANSI A92 standards but also capable and confident when navigating real jobsite conditions.

This course is available at our fully equipped Westwood MA training center, where operators train in a controlled environment using actual equipment. We also offer onsite MEWP training at qualified client facilities throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and beyond, depending on lift availability and training setup.

What the MEWP Course Covers

This 8-hour course provides a comprehensive understanding of safe operation, equipment inspection, and workplace hazard awareness for all common MEWP types—including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and aerial lifts. Training topics include:

Introduction to Mobile Elevated Work Platforms and lift classifications
OSHA, ANSI A92, and manufacturer compliance standards
Component identification and control function overview
Safe maneuvering, positioning, and fall hazard awareness
Pre-use inspections and maintenance procedures
Fall protection integration specific to aerial and boom lifts
Hands-on operation of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and aerial lifts under instructor guidance
Final evaluation and documentation of performance

Operators will gain valuable experience with the actual lifts they use on the job, building the muscle memory and situational awareness necessary for safe daily operation.

MEWP Training

Equipment and Class Requirements

For onsite MEWP training, clients must provide compliant boom lift, scissor lift, or aerial lift equipment and a safe training area. For sessions at our facility, we offer access to standard lift models in a controlled environment. Please contact us in advance to confirm lift types and class logistics.

Documentation and Skill Verification

Participants who meet course standards will receive documentation verifying successful completion of MEWP training, aligned with OSHA and ANSI expectations for operator competency. Performance is evaluated both in the classroom and during practical operation.

Recertification & Skill Retention
