Training
IS&R offers a variety of training classes, available to companies and individuals. Our team will work with you to build a customized plan based on your project requirements.
Our training sessions include:
Confined Space Entry
This (8) hr. class will cover the training needed for participants to comply with the training requirements under OSHA 1926.1200 and 1910.146. Using our state-of-the-art confined space simulator, participants will learn the procedures to enter into a permit-required confined space.
- Non-Permit vs. Permit required Spaces.
- Hazard identification and communication.
- Attendant, Supervisor & Entrant duties.
- Proper Entry documentation.
- Air monitoring equipment.
- Proper PPE, donning/doffing and inspection.
- Confined Space Entry & knowledge assessment.
Fall Protection
This (8) hr. class will cover the training needed for participants to comply with the training requirements under OSHA 1926 Subpart M 1926.503. Using classroom and hand-on learning, the participants will learn how to identify and protect against common fall hazards.
- OSHA definitions and regulations.
- Fall Protection vs Fall Prevention.
- Requirements for guardrails.
- We will cover proper use and donning a harness, anchor points, horizontal lifelines, SRLs, and lanyards.
Fire Extinguisher
This (4) hour course covers OSHA’s guidelines for fires and fire protection measures. We’ll discuss how careful planning and precautionary measures can save lives and property.
- Learn to identify different types of fires and fire extinguishers.
- Discuss fire protection systems, evacuation plans, and how to prepare for emergencies.
- Learn the PASS and RACE mnemonics.
- Use extinguishers to put out a live fire.
Work Zone & Flagger Training
The (4) hour Work Zone and Flagger training program is an introductory course that teaches roadway personnel to provide safe passage of traffic through and around temporary traffic control work zones.
- Covers the essentials for work zone workers required to conduct flagging operations as part of their job.
- Outdoor activity that simulates real flagging scenarios.
- Learn flagging procedures, do’s and don’ts for flaggers, and how to keep workers safe.
- Experienced flaggers can also attend this course as a refresher.
CPR
CPR Training
This hands on CPR training course (in combination with our AED and first aid training) focuses on delivering high quality compressions and ventilations for adults, children, and infants. Participants will work with manikins and follow American Heart Association standards to practice life-saving techniques in a safe, instructor-led environment. The session includes team-based response practice and skills assessment to ensure readiness.
Training is completed in approximately 4 hours.
AHA certification is good for (2) years.
AED
AED Training
This instructor-led course (in combination with our CPR and first aid training) provides hands on instruction in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) using training devices and real-world scenarios. Participants will learn how to recognize signs of sudden cardiac arrest, apply AED pads, and operate the AED confidently during an emergency. The course follows American Heart Association guidelines and includes time for guided practice and skills evaluation.
Training is completed in approximately 4 hours.
AHA certification is good for (2) years.
First Aid
Our First Aid training course (in combination with our AED and CPR training) prepares participants to identify and respond to common medical emergencies including bleeding, burns, fractures, allergic reactions, and more. This interactive session, based on American Heart Association guidelines, combines instructor-led teaching with hands on skill practice for workplace readiness.
Training is completed in approximately 4 hours.
AHA certification is good for (2) years.
OSHA 10
The class is designed to be completed in (2) five-hour days but can be broken into smaller elements (min. 2hrs) depending on your scheduling needs*.
- Attendees will be awarded the OSHA 10-Hour Attendance Certificate at the conclusion of the program;
- Attendees will receive a wallet-size completion card. It takes 30-45 days for OSHA to process;
- Included in the two-day program fee are all presentation materials, All About OSHA booklet.
OSHA 30
The class is designed to be completed in (4) seven-and-a-half-hour days but can be broken in smaller elements (min. 4hrs) depending on your scheduling needs.
- Attendees will be awarded the OSHA 30-Hour Attendance Certificate at the conclusion of the program;
- Attendees will receive a wallet-size completion card. It takes 30-45 days for OSHA to process;
- Included in the four-day program fee are all presentation materials, All About OSHA booklet, and an informational flash drive with a comprehensive collection of reference guides.
MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) Training
Hands-on, instructor-led training for teams operating scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and boom lifts. This 8-hour course focuses on safe operation, hazard recognition, pre-use inspections, and compliance with OSHA and ANSI A92 standards.
Training is available at our Westwood MA facility or onsite at qualified locations across New England.

Standby rescue services
All IS&R employees are trained first responders, EMTs, Paramedics, and/or Firefighters with the ability to rescue and provide medical attention if needed.
Training for your employees
Our team is OSHA authorized to train your employees and enforce all confined space rules and regulations. We also present guidelines on how to safely enter and exit the confined space you’re working in.
Rescue plans
OSHA requires a written rescue plan before employees enter a permit required confined space. IS&R can work with you to create and write a procedure outlining the best possible work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
